KATRINA LATIMER
Owner, Yoga Teacher & Mobility Specialist
FRCms, E-RYT 500, RYT 200, FRA, LYT 500

I teach yoga, mobility, and mindfulness to help you connect more to yourself and your body--but in a really intelligent way. I teach yoga that is founded on the principles of physical therapy. LYT Yoga™ was created by physical therapist Lara Heimann, and it is founded on the principles of physical therapy, kinesiology and biomechanics. It rewires poor movement habits and works to correct postural imbalances we face due to our lifestyle. Through this practice we are able to create freedom in our body that you have to experience to believe.
When I'm not teaching, I spend my free time in the kitchen (I have 2 culinary degrees), watching Big Brother or walking with my husband, or playing with my two young boys and pup--enjoying this beautiful, busy life we get the pleasure of living.
Throughout my teaching journey, I've always been intrigued with the science behind our body, how it can move and the muscles responsible for it (anatomy, physiology, biomechanics etc.). It led to me a lot more than your typical 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training.
After completing my first 200 hr Vinyasa training in 2014 with Kim Zegil, I followed with a 300 hr advanced vinyasa training led by Rolf Gates in 2017-2018.
Since then, I have expanded my teachings to sustainable and functional movement with a 500 hr LYT ™ Yoga Method Training through 2020-2022.
I also integrate Functional Mobility Training after certifying through Functional Range Systems, completing their Functional Mobility Specialist Certification; Functional Range Assessment Certification and Kinstretch Instructor Certification. I'm also certified to teach Prenatal Yoga and have additional hours with Leslie Howard for the Pelvic Floor and am currently enrolled in the Pregnancy and PostPartum Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification with Dr. Sarah Duvall.
I want you to feel better in life and I believe that moving better is the starting point to get there. Through the specific modalities I teach, we are taught sustainable movement for the body and experience a greater mind-body-spirit connection.
When you move with me, you will see that I like to keep my classes interesting and fun. They are filled with detailed instruction and creative sequencing integrating the science of physical therapy, biomechanics and mobility training influenced by yoga philosophy and traditional yoga practice.
